Hands up if your feeling a bit helpless in the face of Climate Change ? Our Governments seem to be doing little to help, our pleas for change are falling on deaf ears, and big business and greed seem to have more say than good people caring for the Earth. Don’t be disheartened though. Activism comes in many forms and there are many ways we can help heal the planet.
To find your calling, it helps to connect with nature. when we feel a love for our earth, our soil, our rivers, lakes, wildlife, and people, then we can listen to our hearts and find the place we can do the most good. If we can see the planet and everything on it as deserving of respect – recognizing the landscape, plants, wildlife, insects and other people in their own right and not just for their use to us – then we can ask the questions :
How can I serve you ?
How can I rebuild the soil ?
How can I respect the water ?
How can I be part of creating a healthy and thriving ecosystem ?

There are many things we can do to build an intimate relationship with nature. Then we can start to care for the Earth and all the flora and fauna. Stop cutting down our forests for newspapers, leave the old growth forests with it’s tree hollows and nesting sites, food trees for koalas, wetlands and nesting trees for the birds. Connect with your local community group / people, turn up to a climate protest, plant a tree, do something for someone, sing and dance to your favorite environmental band, grow your own food, build the soil with compost, be creative, reuse goods, don’t buy plastic.
I think harmony with nature is possible only if abandon the idea of superiority over the natural world. we are not superior to other life-forms, all living things are an expression of Life. A culture which understands this does not, without absolute necessity, destroy any living thing.
